I am the Private Secretary to Professor Dame Lynn Gladden, the Executive Chair of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). I am also a Foundation for Science and Technology 2022 Foundation Future Leader.

Previously, I led EPSRC’s COVID-19 team to deliver phase 2 of UKRI’s Agile COVID-19 response. Simultaneously, I was a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Impact and Business Engagement teams.

Before joining EPSRC, I worked on understanding the properties of strongly correlated low-dimensional systems as an academic theoretical physicist. My academic career featured stints in the Netherlands, the USA, and the UK, as well as participation in numerous international collaborations. My best known works focussed on understanding non-equilibrium physics, particularly real-time dynamics, thermalization and its absence in low-dimensional quantum systems.
